SpareParts Festival returns to trAction for 2019 as well, offering a selection of stupendous and spectacular performances and workshops inspired by the world of transport. With highlights including the spectacular Shipwrecks,  an amazing  adventure with Jack and Mr Moon, or why not contemplate the clouds whilst relaxing on giant beanbags, with Cloudscapes, it’s a day you won’t want to miss.

Don’t forget that there is free car parking in Cheshire East’s town centre car parks too. Get in on the action at trAction, a fantastic and fun free family day out.

The event, organised by Crewe Town Council, celebrates the town’s role in shaping the country’s rail, science and engineering industries. TrAction Crewe is proudly funded by Arts Council England, sponsored by Bentley Motors and Cheshire East Council.

Lyceum Square

Inspired by stories of wreckers, rescues, and undrownable sailors from the coastlines of Wales, “Shipwrecks – Receivers of The Wreck” is a post-industrial world of broken ships, scavenging, and survival where long-abandoned nets are trapping the stories and messages of those lost at sea.

This is a highly physical show combining circus with dance and drama to tell a universal story of our desire for solitude against the need for collective action for the greater good.

Sam has 24 hours to clear out his grandad’s old bike workshop.  He remembers grandad teaching him to ride (and pretending to be his favourite superhero, Bicycle Boy). It seems grandad may have left Sam a present somewhere in the workshop, and some clues to find it. But there’s no power and Sam needs electricity to unlock the clues. Can you help him?

If we can connect up enough bikes and pedal like mad we can generate enough power for Sam’s journey. Join us for a musical adventure (and be prepared to help pedal power the performance).
