We’re creating a digital choir video, featuring people from across Cheshire singing our original song ‘Sleep Now’ written by Artist Leo Mercer and composer Stephen Hyde as part of Legends, Lights & Lullabies for Spare Parts Sandbach 2021.
Our song focuses on the story of ‘Chuck the Trucker’ written by Manchester based writer Matthew Smith for Sandbach Spare Parts 2021. It is an inter-generational story about how a despondent retired truck driver, Chuck, gains a verve for life when his young neighbour, Jade the Unafraid, teaches him how to ride a bike in order that he can continue having adventures in his retirement.
You don’t have to have any singing experience to take part in Sing-a-Story for Sandbach. Our community choir is about bringing a diverse range of people from Cheshire together, to create a great piece of artwork.
The contributions will be curated together by Musician Leo and his team into a digital, collaborative artwork, including illustrations from our Illustrator of Chuck the Trucker Carl Waine.
The Sing-a-Story for Sandbach video will then be featured on the Spare Parts & Minerva Arts websites and Social Media on the 15th April to showcase the artwork to the public.
